Prairie Power, Inc. Implements 4Site EAM Suite
November 1, 2010
Prairie Power, Inc. (PPI), a member-owned, not-for-profit, electric generation and transmission cooperative located in Jacksonville, Illinois, went 'live' on the 4Site EAM Suite on November 1, 2010. Previously PPI used a combination of a Microsoft accounting solution, Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.
Examples of immediate benefits and efficiencies achieved:
Improved accuracy by eliminating a manually updated Access database for asset tracking. This reduced month end calculation of service time and recording of depreciation by shifting responsibility from accounting to engineering department for tracking assets such as voltage regulators and transformers. As engineering puts in or takes out these assets from service, 4Site provides this information concisely for accurate depreciation calculations.
Maintenance & Engineering now defines capital projects complete with a work breakdown structure supported by work orders which provides tracking project costs vs. budget.
The integrated 4Site Purchasing system provides real-time inventory movements which increases warehouse accuracy and efficiency. PPI can now issue material when taken from the warehouse, reorder inventory based on a min/max amount and purchase it through a system that is connected to accounting. They use 3-way match which replaced their manual process prior to 4Site.
User-friendly reporting solution which replaced unstable and unreliable data.
Increased efficiency, reporting and access to historical information for improving bank reconciliation.
